Tigers Sign Young Goalkeeper Mannion
The Tigers have signed former AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Will Mannion, with a compensation fee to be agreed by a tribunal.
18-year-old Mannion impressed for the Dons’ U21 side last season, attracting interest from a host of clubs throughout the summer before eventually putting pen-to-paper with the Tigers on a three-year deal, with an option for an extra year.
Speaking after signing, Mannion said: “I’m really excited to get the contract signed and I can’t wait to get started now.
“After meeting with Steve Bruce and Gary Walsh it made my mind up that this was the club I wanted to sign for – the decision was a fairly simple one for me.
“I’m delighted to start the next chapter of my career at this club and I’m looking to get involved with the lads as quickly as possible.”
Mannion, who was also part of an England Under-18 training camp last season having impressed at AFC Wimbledon, is expected to form part of Tony Pennock’s U21 squad when the Academy return for the 2016/17 campaign.
