Preview: U18s vs Barnsley

The Under-18s continue their Professional Development League campaign with a short trip to South Yorkshire to face Barnsley on Saturday morning.

The young Tigers - who are managed by John Anderson and Terry Boyle this season - have made an impressive start to the season, winning four, drawing two and losing just one of their opening seven games of the campaign and come into Saturday’s on the back of a 6-3 home win over Nottingham Forest - Keane Lewis-Potter (3), Will Taylor, Ahmed Salam and Mason Wilson-Rhiney with the goals.

Saturday’s game against the Tykes, who are currently tenth in the Professional Development League North table after picking seven points from their first six games, will be played at The Academy Ground at Oakwell and will kick-off at 11am.

The U18 Professional Development League is split into two regional divisions, North and South. Teams play opponents in their own division twice and the other division once, with the sides who finish first and second in each league meeting in the end-of-season play-offs to determine the overall national champions.
