Date: Friday 12th May 2017
Kick-Off Time: 7pm
Competition: Professional Development League Play-Off Final
The all-Yorkshire tie at Hillsborough is expected to be a tight affair between what are two evenly-matched teams. Sheffield Wednesday finished the season at the top of the Professional Development League North table, two points ahead of Jon Beale’s side in second spot a feat which has secured home advantage for the Owls in end-of-season showpiece.
The Tigers booked their place in the final with a penalty shoot-out victory over Southern champions Charlton Athletic after a 3-3 draw at The Valley - Jarrod Bowen, Johan Ter Horst and Jonathan Edwards with the goals. The Owls, meanwhile, defeated Millwall in the other semi-final, with George Hirst on target twice against the Lions in a 2-1 victory.
The teams have already met twice this season, with each side claiming away wins. The Tigers registered a 2-0 win back in late November courtesy of a Robbie McKenzie brace, before Wednesday took all three points at North Ferriby with a 3-2 win in early March thanks to a Hirst hat-trick.

Last Time Out: Hull City 2 Sheffield Wednesday 3
Johan Ter Horst and Jarrod Bowen were both on the scoresheet for the Tigers but it wasn’t enough to prevent them from falling to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday in early March. Jon Beale’s side twice came from behind to level the scores as Ter Horst cancelled Hirst’s opener for the Owls in the first half to make it 1-1 at the break, before Bowen’s 87th-minute penalty made it 2-2 after Hirst had restored the Owls’ lead six minutes earlier. But it was Wednesday who had the final say when, just moments after Bowen’s spot-kick, the referee awarded the visitors a penalty of their own, with Hirst making no mistake from 12 yards to complete his hat-trick and secure all three points his side.
Admission is priced at £3 Adults and £2 Concessions. The South Stand at Hillsborough will be open for this fixture.
