Olley: One Final Effort

Olley: One Final Effort

Development Squad skipper Greg Olley has called for one final effort from his team-mates when they face Sheffield Wednesday in the Professional Development League Play-Off Final on Friday night.

Jon Beale’s side will be looking to round off what has been another impressive campaign in style when they face the Owls at Hillsborough for the right to be crowned national champions at Category Two level, and Olley wants the Tigers to match the performance levels shown in their semi-final victory over Charlton earlier in the week.

“It’s now one last game to go - we put in a huge effort against Charlton in the semi-final on Monday night and we’re going to need do it all again at Hillsborough in the final,” he said.

“I’m sure it will be a good game. Obviously they finished ahead of us in the league, but only by two points, so there wasn’t too much between the two sides in the league campaign over 28 games.

“In the two games we’ve had with them this season, we’ve won one and they’ve won one, but it’s all about who turns up on the night.

“We know it will be a tough game, but if we go there and play like we did at Charlton in the semi-final, we’ll give ourselves a great chance to win the game - hopefully over 90 minutes this time!”
