Beale Targets Seven Wins From Seven
Jon Beale has challenged his Under-23s side to win each of their seven remaining games in order to secure a top-two finish and claim a place in the Professional Development League play-offs.
The Tigers are currently fourth in the North table ahead of tonight's trip to Alfreton Town's Impact Arena to face Nottingham Forest and go into the clash buoyed by last week's 2-1 home win over Barnsley.
Beale's side are currently two points behind second-placed Sheffield United and five points adrift of current leaders Bolton Wanderers, having played one more game.
Speaking ahead on this evening's encounter with Forest, Beale said: "We've got seven games left and a lot can happen in those games.
"I've said to the boys - it's seven games and seven wins will get us to where we want to be, which is in top two come the end of the season.
"We were in a similar predicament last season and we ended up getting the job done.
"We know that we're a match for any side at this level on our day, it's just a case of making sure we produce the right sort of performances in each of our final seven games in the coming weeks.
"I know it's old cliché, but it's important that we take it one game at a time. We're in for a tough test tonight against a Nottingham Forest side that will have play-off aspirations of their own.
"But, we've done our prep work to a good standard. We're ready the challenge that awaits us and we'll go there looking to get what would be another important three points to help us achieve our target."
