Beale: Fans' Support For U23s Would Be Much Appreciated
Jon Beale is hoping a decent crowd will stay behind to support his Under-23 side in action against Coventry City at the KCOM Stadium this evening.
The Tigers’ Development Squad will take to the KCOM pitch after the first team’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Sunderland, with the Professional Development League 2 clash scheduled to kick-off at 5pm.
Tonight’s game is the first of five that Beale’s side will play immediately after a first-team fixture, and the Academy Manager is hoping to see plenty of fans remain in their seats to cheer on his players.
“The way we’re doing the games at the KCOM this year is that they all fall immediately after first team games,” said Beale.
“Our game against Coventry is our first of those games this season and hopefully plenty of supporters will stay in the ground after watching the first team in action and continue to give the boys some support.
“To be fair to the fans, they have been fantastic in their support of the Under-23s during my time at the Club whatever the weather - wind, rain or sunshine - both at North Ferriby and whenever we’ve played at the KCOM.
“They’ve always given the lads great support and obviously myself and the players are very grateful for that.
“Hopefully that will continue to be the case this season because it’s important for the lads to get that experience of playing at the Stadium and it would be even better for them to do so in front of a decent crowd.”
